Electrical Automation Technician

Salary: $86,100.00 - $92,200.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance to enhance equipment efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot low and medium voltage motor control systems to ensure operational reliability.
  • Proficiently handle Siemens and Rockwell drive systems, identifying and remedying issues to prevent operational downtime.
  • Utilize PLC interfaces effectively for diagnostics and troubleshooting to maintain the highest levels of productivity.
  • Lead the installation and commissioning of new equipment, adhering strictly to safety and quality standards to ensure compliance and safety at all levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities to help streamline operations and facilitate smooth audits and inspections.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and craft new Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure a safe working environment.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology or military-equivalent electronics training.
  • Alternatively, a high school diploma with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions effectively.
  • Solid understanding of NFPA 70E/NEC safety requirements and the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Physical capability to handle tasks in a manufacturing environment, such as lifting equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • A strong commitment to upholding safety standards, enhancing teamwork, and investing in continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment focused on automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC logic, industrial automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Safe operation of forklifts and aerial lifts, with applicable certifications.

  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Expertise in managing Siemens and Rockwell automation systems.
  • Competent in using PLC interfaces for system diagnostics.
