Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President for a premier Customhouse Broker and Freight Forwarder noted for its supply chain management expertise with clients in major verticals with traditionally challenging commodities to harmonize. Service offerings include freight forwarding (door to door), customs brokerage, compliance, duty drawbacks, cargo & freight insurance, supply chain management and visibility tools. The EVP, Operations will oversee logistics and freight management companywide. The successful individual will manage all administrative, reporting, and people resources to effectively scale and grow the organization while ensuring financial strength and operational efficiency. Leads 100 staff members of various levels and oversees operational departments, establishing and executing strategies, policies, SOPs, and goals. Owns companywide communication regarding trends, changes, and relevant topics from a freight perspective. Builds and deploys strategic plans while actively analyzing departmental success, employee productivity, and process enhancement within each business unit. Translates strategy into action through company-wide goal setting, performance management, annual operating planning, and effective delegation. Ensures goal alignment, collaborates in tandem, and clearly communicates with management team & executive committee regarding resource allocation and operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel needed for rapid growth objectives. Fosters relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders while managing operational efficiency and profit generation. Recruits, leads, mentors, coaches, and corrects world-class management team and builds an inclusive culture that supports staff and organizational outcomes. Adheres to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and acting when necessary

Background Required:
  • Management and leadership progression at a Freight Forwarder or similar environment (5+ years)
  • Strategic leader and with the ability to work across all areas of the company
  • Asia trade lane experience
  • Air & ocean freight, specifically imports
  • Experience working with carriers and steamship lines
  • Proven record of scaling and growing an organization or major division
  • Effective management of employee, vendor, and customer relationship
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making
  • Team-oriented and inspirational leader; takes initiative and leads by example
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Computer literate: Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BS, BA)
