E&S GL Underwriter

POSITION SUMMARY

The GL Underwriter will be responsible for growing and maintaining a profitable book of primary GL commercial business written through wholesale brokers located within the assigned territory while adhering to company underwriting standards and guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Primary responsibilities include selecting and pricing accounts that fit company underwriting appetite guidelines, production goals, and profit targets.

• Occasional travel to maintain existing wholesale broker relationships.

• Maintain a profitable book of business by monitoring performance and pricing metrics.

• Collaborate with internal staff to help develop and execute business strategy in your assigned territory.

• Develop and maintain superior collaborative relationships with all internal team members.

• Stay current on emerging issues and competitive trends in the E&S insurance marketplace.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Should have 5 + years of GL underwriting experience in an insurance company or MGA environment.

Strong knowledge of GL coverage forms and endorsements.

Experience underwriting multiple classes of commercial business including contractors

College degree or equivalent work experience. CPCU or other related industry designations.
