Key Responsibilities

Epic Application Support & Configuration

  • Configure, maintain, and enhance assigned Epic modules in alignment with clinical and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely resolutions.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and new functionality releases

Clinical Workflow & Business Analysis

  • Collaborate with clinicians and operational stakeholders to assess workflows and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Translate clinical and business needs into Epic build and configuration solutions.
  • Recommend system enhancements that improve efficiency, usability, and patient safety.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and execute test plans for system changes, upgrades, and new implementations.
  • Validate build accuracy and ensure changes meet functional and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in integrated testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)

Training & User Support

  • Develop and maintain user documentation, training materials, and workflow guides.
  • Provide end-user training and ongoing application support.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned Epic modules.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Leverage Epic reporting tools to support operational, clinical, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation, configuration records, and change logs.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to align Epic solutions with organizational goals.
  • Participate in performance improvement and optimization initiatives.
  • Stay current on Epic enhancements, best practices, and healthcare IT trends.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Healthcare Information Technology, Computer Science, or Health Information Management, is required
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Epic application build, support, or maintenance; specific Epic modules should be noted where possible
  • 5+ years of Epic experience preferred, depending on module complexity

Certification

  • Epic Certification or Proficiency in relevant modules required or obtained within a defined timeframe

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Epic reporting tools and system troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy regulations
