Enterprise Architect, Master Data & Data Warehouse

Position Summary:
The Enterprise Data Architect is a very technical position with responsibility to lead the definition and ongoing maintenance of key master data, and the development, validation, publishing, and ongoing maintenance of logical and physical data models for the enterprise data warehouse. This will require retrofitting existing data marts into models and incorporating new business requirements that will be implemented using the EDW.

The Enterprise Data Architect is expected to become the subject matter expert on content, current and potential future uses of data, quality, and interrelationship between key elements of the data repository and data products.

The key for this position is to possess a combination of business knowledge and technical skills to define and guide data strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Performs IT thought leadership role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, text mining, data discovery, multidimensional design and implementation
• Defines master data strategy, and achieves the strategy roadmap for the enterprise
• Defines and manages the enterprise data warehouse data standards and architecture including data inventory and logical models, data sourcing, data security definition
• Develops specific metrics to monitor data quality and integrity.
• Works with other key members such as Business Analysts, Developers, customers, etc. to understand business requirements and business processes, design data mart schema(s), and define extract-translate-load processes for the data mart(s)
• Establishes standards and guidelines for the design & development, tuning, deployment and maintenance of information in the EDW for reporting, advanced data analytics, and data mining models
• Drives rapid prototyping and design for new projects
• Draws conclusions and effectively communicates findings with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Participates in Business Intelligence projects, and works with applicable teams to deliver solutions.
• Understands key data management, BI, and data analytics trends

To Be Considered, you must have:
• Experience with data modeling and data architecture, and hands-on experience creating and maintaining Data Warehouse
• Experience creating and achieving master data management strategies
• Experience in aggregating internal, external, structured and unstructured data into a unified data warehouse
• Experience in multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models, handling dimensions/attributes
• Experience in developing, validating, publishing, maintaining both logical and physical models, setting and enforcing naming conventions, and maintaining all documentation for data models
• Experience with managing metadata using data modeling tools - e.g., SAP PowerDesigner, DataArchitect & InformationArchitect, ErWin, etc.
• Experience in performing reverse engineering of physical data models from existing data marts and/or SQL scripts
• Experience with database technologies such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2, and EDW platforms such as SAP BW
• Experience with SAP EIM framework including Business Objects Data Services, and experience or knowledge of other ETL tools such as Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator, etc.
• Experience with cube design tools such as BOBJ universe designer studio
• Experience in and understanding of a wide variety of data integrity processes (governance, measurement, security, etc.)
• Experience in international manufacturing business environment, preferably in the automotive industry
