EHS Specialist
Job Description
Join the team as an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our AndersonBiro customer’s facilities meet and exceed compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) standards.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal EH&S regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Coordinate training needs with plant leadership to ensure all required safety and compliance training is conducted on schedule (e.g., STOP training, OSHA/EPA required training, emergency drills).
- Develop and implement Corporate, EPA, and OSHA standards and initiatives based on business needs.
- Conduct facility EH&S audits, document results, and collaborate with plant leadership to address any findings.
- Oversee the incident management process at plant locations, driving continuous improvement and preventing recurrence.
- Manage timely closure of corrective and preventative actions, ensuring deadlines and standards are met.
- Complete environmental compliance reports (e.g., monthly chemical usage, emissions, TRI, Tier II reports).
- Conduct air and water quality monitoring as needed.
- Partner with Corporate Compliance and plant teams to keep all documents updated and aligned with standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- 3 to 6 years of relevant EH&S experience.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Proficiency with EH&S-related technology and inspection tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Experience in flexographic printing (preferred) OR Machine Operating
- OSHA 30 certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
