Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Illness and Injury Prevention Program for the facility

  • Support and manage the Corporate occupational health initiatives

  • Manage and report on ASATs (self-assessment tests) for the EHS Department

  • Work with the site's management team to drive overall reductions of accidents and injuries

  • Assist with accident investigations and follow-up with required corrective actions

  • Effectively administer the Company's safety audit and near miss systems

  • Regularly update training modules for all safety programs for the facility (hearing conservation, respiratory, etc...)

  • Manage the chemical database and SDS programs

  • Manage the Industrial Hygiene database

  • Conduct new hire and outside contractor safety orientations

  • Conduct training for safety requirements (hearing conservation, Employee Right to Know, etc...)

  • Coordinate hearing conservation program and annual testing with the hearing conservation SPS (Single Point of Accountability) for the program

  • Create and submit EPCRA reports

  • Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and analysis results

  • Ensure company compliance and assist with the management of the administration of all state and Federal requirements, including OSHA requirements and recordkeeping

  • Update and maintain the safety performance Communications boards regularly

  • Conduct a daily plant safety walk-through in each department

  • Quantify and present safety and health statistics to the EHS Manager

  • Assist with the coordination of the Return-to-Work and Restricted Duty programs

  • Conduct written program/procedure reviews and develop training curriculums based on these programs, as needed. The EHS Specialist will provide support to the Rochester facility by working on a variety of safety and industrial hygiene related duties



    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • 1 year of EHS experience
