EHS Manager

This position will help to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements and initiatives. The EHS Manager will assume the primary EHS responsibilities at the Columbus OH facility. Responsibilities: Drive awareness and accountability for environmental, health and safety performance through all levels of the Plant. Provide support to plant help them build and maintain awareness of developing environmental, health & safety issues and adoption of best practices through benchmarking internally and externally. Assist in planning, development, tracking, safety training sessions, inspections and audits. Assist in coordination of activities for facility Safety Committee development. Follow-up and assure completion of action items. Assist with the development and implementation of EHS programs. Provide support to create a Complete Safety Culture and communicate the expectations, goals, standards, and metrics used to measure progress. Develop leadership and awareness skills with all Dept Managers. Assist in the development of appropriate and effective health & safety training for hourly, supervisory, and management team members to enhance professionalism. Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise and support. Produce regular summary reports and analysis on environmental, health & safety activities, performance measurement and results for the designated facilities as directed by Corporate Management. Plan, prepare and present annual EHS plans, goals, objectives, reports and results for the designated facilities. Contribute to corporate environmental initiatives, work place health and safety goal setting and coordinating development and implementation of measures and communications. Assist with structuring environmental, health & safety files for corporate and division audits. Required: • Four (4) year degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and/or Safety Engineering • Minimum 5 years of experience in direct Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a manufacturing environment • Applied knowledge and working understanding of federal/county safety requirements (i.e.; OSHA), regulatory compliance, experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, EHS training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis • Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills • Direct EHS experience must include leading and influencing organizations • Strong leadership, communication, influencing and collaborative skills • Computer literacy: Power Point, Word, Excel • Knowledge of safety, industry hygiene and environmental testing methods • Analytical problem solving and decision making • Capability of Initiating Needed Safety Training • Knowledge of Behavior Based Safety • Strong English language competency – both verbal and written • Ability to travel up to 25% • Willingness and ability to provide 24/7 on call support for emergencies.
