Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale has an exciting opportunity for an EHS Coordinator. The successful incumbent will evaluate, maintain, and distribute the Environmental Health and Safety policy procedures, training, and work practices. The EHS Coordinator will also conduct safety and environmental evaluations and inspections to check if the district conforms to the requirements of company procedures related to environmental, health, and workplace safety.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Supervisors and lead workers around planning and execution of non­ routine tasks in a safe manner;
  • Consistently conduct department safety visits designed to positively encourage best safety practices;
  • Execute of frequent job site inspections to identify hazards and provide consultation to resolve safety issues;
  • Investigation of all incidents in a timely manner;
  • Guide prevention and risk reduction programs to improve safety and health programs;
  • Conduct or coordinate reviews of follow-up expectations and activities as appropriate; track corrective items on agreed-upon timelines to closure;
  • Provide periodic communication to management on the direction and effectiveness of health and safety programs through operational metrics;

Position Requirements

  • Excellent at working through environmental health and safety regulatory compliance areas related to aerospace;
  • Can create and maintain training materials and manuals;
  • EHS Training and new hire safety orientation
  • Experienced at establishing and assuring adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements;
  • Be ISO 14001 Trained
  • Certified in 24-hour HAZWOPER Course, 10 OSHA course, and as a DOT HazMat Employee;
  • Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires deep knowledge of organizational objectives;
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and train subject matter experts in safety practices and processes.
