Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill has an exciting new opportunity for an EHS & Continuous Improvement Analyst. The successful incumbent will work with all departments to meet and improve on the division’s EHS performance. They will also play a key role in developing detail project plans to prioritize all identified improvement projects.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review and study existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
- Assess the organization for greatest opportunities for waste reduction
- Develop a detailed project plan to prioritize all identified improvement projects. Assign teams and update projects as necessary. Hold teams accountable to meet milestone dates.
- Directs development of actions plan and estimates requirements for resources, management, labor, materials, and time needed to complete improvement projects.
- Use lean tools (Waste reduction, problem solving, value stream mapping) to accomplish goals.
- Work with audit team to assist in internal and external auditing as necessary
- Provide divisional Continuous Improvement related trainings and participate in corporate committees
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
- Monitor and report on the condition of Magellan Aerospace Haverhill’s Environmental, Health and safety conditions.
- Gather data throughout the year to prepare and facilitate annual ISO14001 audits and address any corrective actions.
- Work with all departments to meet and improve on Magellan Aerospace Haverhill’s Environmental, Health and Safety performance.
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for Corporate, Federal, State and local requirements.
- Review the regulations and environmental management requirements and determine their applicability and impact.
- Gather and analyze EH&S data culminating in report generation.
- Propose and work on new tool creation and process improvements.
- Coordinate all required EH&S training for all employees.
- Maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) Operating Procedures.
- Facilitate 6S compliance in both the shop and office setting.
- Maintain facility chemical inventories and associated safety data sheets (SDS).
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in relevant field (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Business, Project Management, Environmental Sciences, etc)
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or pursuing certification
- 3-5 years of engineering, manufacturing or comparable experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with ISO14001 Standard, OSHA, EPA and MA DEP regulations.
- Familiar with project management software tools; MS Project would be a plus.
- Familiar with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA’s), Lean, Value Stream, DMAIC and Problem Solving Tools
- Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously and delegate work to others as needed.
- Ability to communicate and train across all levels of the organization and external parties.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Must be team oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and maintain composure during times of stress or change, or while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel Power Point and Outlook).
- Must be able to follow instructions, yet exercise independent judgment, set goals, and work well independently.
