EDC Account Manager

Job Description
This role is responsible for being the point of contact between the company and the EDC through networking and building effective relationships. This role must also develop rapport with new EDC’s and provide support that will continually improve the relationship, and grow collection yields.
Drive performance within the company’s Late stage and Legal collections processes aimed at achieving set performance targets on all external soft and legal collection account.

Formal qualification(s):
  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4
  • Qualification in Collections or studying towards
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in EDC Collections and client service industry
  • Experience and extensive knowledge in a similar industry will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience managing more than one EDC
Legal requirements
  • Passed credit and criminal checks
  • S.A Citizen or valid work permit for S.A
  • Valid driver’s license

Work output 1: Financial Management
  • Cost effective allocation and use of company resources
  • Assist the company to meet its targets and stay within budget parameters

Work output 2: Business Process Management
Governance
  • Interpret and apply company policy, departmental procedures and EDC collections process
  • Interpret and apply ( Respect, Integrity, Ownership and Excellence)
  • Weekly and monthly reporting
Strategy
  • Present the Company at public functions, events and external meetings
  • Conduct and chair meetings
  • Compile and present reports to keep the Exco Team (key stakeholders) informed
Operational
  • Following market trends
  • Reviewing panel external collectors
  • Management of all handed over accounts within the EDC environment
  • Implementation of appropriate collections strategies in the EDC environment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on EDC collections, cost savings, developing projects and systems through detailed technical and financial negotiations, SLA management, and relationship development
  • Follow up with suppliers concerning assistance and delivery times
  • Manage budgets and maintains records of EDC collection
  • Working with EDC’s to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Forecasting levels of demand for collections to meet the business needs
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best collectors in terms of best collections and quality
  • Liaise between Edc’s, relevant internal departments and debtors
  • Identify potential EDCs, visit existing EDC’s
  • Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided
  • Ensure process of payments and invoices
  • Forecast collection trends and communicating targets
  • Develop collections strategy
  • Analyze reports and proposing improvement initiatives / strategies
  • Lead the strategic identification, development, and execution of EDC collections processes and procedures across the organization
  • Produce reports and statistics using computer software
  • Provide insight to Business Units on the short- and long-term goals through the use of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company’s mission and core values as a means to implement positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned business unit(s)
  • Define and develop integrated strategies, plans and processes based on the insight into EDC behaviors and our expectations
  • Provide input/insight for the development of reports/dashboards to support optimization of collections
  • Identify opportunities and gaps within the pre and/or post activations process
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet EDC needs
  • Provide technical guidance if necessary
  • Assist with various projects as assigned
  • Perform all such duties and exercise all such powers in relation to the business of the Company as may from time to time be vested in or assigned to you, despite the fact that such duties and powers may not normally be performed by you

  • Maintain and keep up to date with professional, technical and product knowledge and to apply it to your job
  • Develop own competencies required for daily functions
  • Conduct performance ratings and career development for staff
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on EDC collections through the implementation of business plans aligned to business outcomes
  • Manage own performance development plans

  • Professional communication to EDC’s
  • Build strong working relationships both internally and with key stakeholders
  • Solving queries in respect of failure in service delivery and/or customer complaints
  • Analyse and adapt new strategies to react to changing collection trends
  • To prepare presentations, proposals, plans, contact reports as necessary
