Commercial Lines Excess & Surplus Lines Underwriter- REMOTE

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to manage a desk of new Excess & Surplus lines business in California

The Underwriter will manage and grow a book of General Liability and Property business utilizing solid technical skills in accordance with company underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years’ experience underwriting for an insurance company; experience with Excess & Surplus lines is required
• Experience with Casualty, property and miscellaneous professional liability
• Experience analyzing, pricing, quoting new business with responsiveness and excellent customer service
• Handle endorsement requests on existing accounts
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
• Experience working with wholesale brokers/Managing General Agents
• Ability to develop relationships and partner with broker force
• Some travel is required (once deemed safe)-2-3 times per year
• Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Insurance designations are a plus
