Job Description

The Dynamics AX Functional Support Specialist is a dynamic role for a motivated individual. One who is proficient and experienced in bridging the languages of technology and business and adept at understanding the inter-relationships between systems, software and business processes. This role will provide functional and application support and assistance to users of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 system personally or in conjunction with the Technology Solution Center and Enterprise Applications teams.

Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for all functional and application AX support
  • Provides continuous support for all AX related issues/tickets entered into the IT Technology Solution Center
  • Setups and maintain documentation and standards (translate business knowledge to functional requirements)
  • Performs Security Administration for Dynamics AX
  • Collaborates as part of a team and provide 24 x 7 supports when required
  • Performs general technical troubleshooting/debugging and provide consultation to Finance/Accounting teams
  • Provides direct support and assistance to Dynamics AX end users to ensure reliable and efficient business operations
  • Understands business requirements and documents any workaround solutions for functions and processes creating issues
  • Collaborates with Dynamics AX team and consultants to facilitate communication and understanding of business processes and system functionality
  • Communicates with individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Documents assigned tasks as required Performs work according to supervisor and directives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's level degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field
  • Ability to communicate well both orally and in written English
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance for publicly traded companies, reporting requirements and other reports for tracking and decision making
  • Ability to deliver results independently and with a team
  • Strong skills in problem solving including but not limited to the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate a course of action
  • Ability to handle sudden changes in project/priority and multiple tasks simultaneously and under pressure in a positive manner
  • Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge on technology trends and to recommend innovative technologies to improve the technology infrastructure
  • Proficiency at learning and analyzing business processes and requirements
  • Well-rounded exposure to multiple AX modules, emphasis on Financials (GL, AR, AP, FA, BR, PA)
  • Must be able to create/modify security roles, and good understanding of batch jobs
  • Understanding of Intercompany transactions
  • Knowledge and experience writing functional requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of Dynamics AX experience in a support/administrative role with involvement in some technical database or development tasks preferred
  • Security administration experience
