Driver
Job Description
The main purpose of a company driver is to transport and deliver goods, equipment, products, and staff members to locations required by the organization. The driver maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle and is responsible for informing the organization about repairs and maintenance.
Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Safely transporting company staff as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner
- Assisting with the loading and offloading of the company’s products and materials
- Adjusting traveling routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction
- Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours
- Ensuring that the company vehicle is parked in areas that permit parking in order to avoid towing
- Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning and vehicle maintenance
- Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s Logbooks
- Reporting any accidents, injuries and vehicle damage to management
- Clarifying your scheduled deliveries before each shift begins
- Fetching, checking, and signing for parcels at their respective collection points
- Devising and choosing the most effective routes
- Transporting items to drop-off points
- Answering recipients’ questions about the delivery process
- Ensuring that both yourself and the recipient sign all relevant documentation upon delivery
- Checking to see that you have completed all work allocated for the day
- Advising your line manager of deliveries that could not be fulfilled
- Remaining friendly and helpful as you conduct your duties
- Availability to evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Matric
- Must have at least 2 to 3 years Driving experience
- Code 10 License
- PDP
- Ability to use Google Maps, WhatsApp and a phone
- Excellent vision day and night (+- 500km per day)
