We are looking for a Divisional Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting leader to own the financial operations of a specific division, with the flexibility of a remote role for candidates based within 100 miles of Columbus, OH.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations for the assigned division, including general ledger, close, and reporting
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of divisional financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Partner with divisional leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Analyze divisional financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to leadership
• Manage divisional audit requests and support the broader corporate audit process
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls within the division
• Manage and mentor divisional accounting staff
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and reporting requirements
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy at the divisional level
• Collaborate with corporate finance/accounting teams to ensure consistency across the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership experience
• Prior experience in a divisional, multi-unit, or decentralized accounting environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote capacity while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships
• Must reside within 100 miles of Columbus, OH
