Division Geologist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology required
- Exploration Geologist with at least 10 years’ experience in mines, quarry and non-metallics required. This experience must include mineral exploration, mine geology and raw materials.
- Cement industry experience required.
- Must be experienced in mining operations, stripping mines, loading, hauling, drilling, blasting, and drilling exploration. This includes mining plan and Scheduling.
- Conversational Spanish is desired.
- Leadership to manage subordinates with ease and respect to achieve goals
- Working knowledge of MSHA regulations, MSHA training required.
RESPONIBILITIES:
Responsible for Raw materials reserves and exploration of 5 quarries in the US, Technical support (office/field) in several geological/mining projects, cooperate and collaborate with Plant Managers and Quarry Managers in their needs/priorities regarding raw materials. This position reports to Company's Corporate Raw Materials Manager.
- Exploration on non- metallic industrial minerals
- To coordinate geology activities on several projects
- To evaluate projects in terms of feasibility, cost/benefit analysis, result scenarios, etc.
- Strategic planning on short, mid and long-term Projects
- Drilling Campaigns scheduling with logging and budget integration
- Surveying works supervision
- Raw Materials Reserve Calculation
- Legal knowledge (permits, parcel property, issues, etc.)
- Environmental knowledge (EPA, NESHAP, etc.)
- Negotiation skills to engage with property owners
- Data base administration
- Present monthly reports
- Training new Jr Geologists on field
- Apply QA/QC best practices
