Carolina PRG has partnered with an acquisitive distribution and service company that is located in North Charlotte to help them identify a Division Controller. The Division Controller will be a key financial leader responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance for a designated region. This role will support the General Managers, leadership teams, and the parent company ensuring the integrity for financial processes, systems, and reporting. This position requires a hands on leader with a strong technical foundation, a process improvement mindset, and the ability to navigate change in a complex environment. This role will lead a team across billing, AR, AP, general ledger, payroll, and fixed assets, while also partnering closely with operations and leadership to drive financial performance and decision-making.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop the regional finance team, setting priorities and supporting ongoing growth and performance
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting process, delivering insights on trends, variances, and opportunities
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Review and ensure accuracy of financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting in line with GAAP/IFRS
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing insight into performance, cost control, and profitability
  • Lead audit processes and coordinate required documentation for audits and tax filings
  • Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and treasury activities
  • Drive improvements in working capital (DSO/DPO) and overall cash flow
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including ERP enhancements and automation initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting/finance experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, analysis, and GAAP/IFRS
  • Proven ability to lead teams and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with ERP systems (Sage, JDE, SAP, OneStream, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across finance and non-finance teams
