DISTRICT SALES MANAGER (50-75% TRAVEL-- ALL REMOTE)

Position Summary: The District Sales Manager position is a pivotal role, responsible for overseeing a team of sales professionals to ensure maximum profitability, foster customer relationships, and drive growth. This leader will be hands-on in developing and empowering their team while consistently upholding the company's commitment to exceptional service, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that sales teams maximize gross profitability by implementing and monitoring effective sales strategies.
• Guide and encourage salespeople to consistently pursue up-selling and cross-selling opportunities to enhance revenue streams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring that customer needs are met, and satisfaction is prioritized.
• Regularly visit customer locations, engaging in face-to-face conversations to gather feedback, address any concerns, and explore opportunities to improve relationships and service quality.
• Conduct regular ride-alongs with sales team members, providing direct support, coaching, and development to foster a high-performing sales team.
• Mentor and develop team members' skills in relationship-building, negotiation, and sales techniques.
• Proactively seek out new, profitable opportunities within the district, focusing on driving growth and expanding the company's market reach.
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify and act upon potential areas for expansion and product offering enhancements.
• Act as a representative of the company, always aiming to leave a positive and professional impression.
• Engage with customers on-site to discuss satisfaction with products and services, identify areas for improvement, and relay valuable insights to management.
• Occasionally address urgent customer issues to maintain relationships and ensure satisfaction, though issue resolution is not the primary focus of this role.
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.
• 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in wholesale, distribution, convenience, or related industry
• 2 - 3 years of sales leadership/management experience, with a track record of team development and achieving sales targets.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Proven ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the district (50-75% travel)
• Excellent leadership and coaching skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
