Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of Logistics for a leading total service wholesale distributor of food and household products to retailers in the Northeastern United States.
Will manage three direct reports including: 3 managers, and up to 450 associates throughout 3 temperature-controlled facilities totaling in 600,000 sq. ft. delivering to 1500 stores. Ensure personnel perform to achieve the specific operational goals, the safety and welfare of the associates, contractual adherence, and the goals of organization. Responsible for complete P & L, establishing metrics, formulating, and administering company policies, account management and growth opportunities. In addition, review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecasted data and champion process improvement. Manages standard operating procedures and directs an aggressive operating plan. Operating in a hands-on environment identifies and directs the implementation of cost saving opportunities. Has face-to-face contact with client management and conforms to agreed upon operational metrics. Challenge is to motivate and lead staff and program operational needs while decreasing cost, improving profitability and client relationships.

Background Required:
  • Warehouse Operations Management and Leadership (10 years)
  • Temperature controlled, food & grocery experience
  • Development and execution of strategy / annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOP’s, customer plans, workshops, etc.)
  • Metrics measurements (i.e. engineered labor standards, quality, employee productivity and efficiency)
  • P & L experience
  • Demonstrated success in Supply Chain Management, Distribution, Transportation, Inventory Control and Process Improvement
  • Value added logistics (case pick, full pallet)
  • Proven integration of operations and systems requirements
  • Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e. Six Sigma, ISO, Lean)
  • Technology (WMS, LMS)
  • Residence: Cheshire, CT (Relocation assistance provided)
