Our client has an opening for a Director of Surgical Services at its main campus in San Diego. Our state of the art surgical department consists of 16 operating rooms and 56 beds for pre-op and PACU services. The surgical services department performed over 20,000 pediatric surgeries in 2016. It is the region's only designated pediatric trauma center.

This dynamic nursing leadership position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is supported by a world-class team of Managers, Supervisors and over 300 staff members. The Director partners with physicians and others to provide leadership and direction to support the hospital's mission, vision, values and strategic objectives. The individual is responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and evaluating clinical practice, patient care, and departmental operations, and has 24-hour responsibility for services in specialties such as Cardiovascular, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Plastic, ENT, Ophthalmology, Trauma, Neurosurgery, Dermatology, Transplant and Urology.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
• 5 years of acute care nursing experience
• CA RN License
• Broad knowledge of the disciplines represented in the department and of the laws and regulations pertaining to services provided by the department
• 5 years of administrative or supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Surgical Services Director, preferably in pediatrics
• CNOR or other professional certification
