Director of Risk Management

We are actively seeking a seasoned Director of Risk Management to spearhead our risk management operations. This pivotal role encompasses the development and implementation of strategies to manage and mitigate financial and operational risks, with particular emphasis on commodities, energy, and insurance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of risk control within a manufacturing setting, leveraging this knowledge to safeguard the company's assets and financial health. This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $155,000 annually, in addition to performance-based bonuses.

Salary: $120,000 - $155,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Devise and execute daily hedging strategies for copper inventory, aligning with market conditions to minimize price volatility risks.
  • Develop hedging solutions for managing variability in gas and electricity costs, ensuring alignment with the company's operational needs.
  • Direct comprehensive management of the company’s insurance portfolio, ensuring optimal coverage across all business areas.
  • Lead the strategic administration of workers' compensation insurance, focusing on risk assessments and minimizing claim frequencies.
  • Provide detailed financial risk analysis, influencing corporate strategy with a focus on safeguarding cash flows and maximizing economic outcomes.
  • Establish risk management frameworks, conduct regular evaluations, and drive strategic decisions based on thorough risk assessments.
  • Maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration to integrate risk management with broader corporate objectives.
  • Develop and train internal teams on risk awareness, promoting a culture of proactive risk management.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in commodity hedging and energy cost management.
  • Profound knowledge of insurance program oversight and claims management.
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing industry settings, with a deep understanding of the associated risks and controls.
  • Established track record in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration or Risk Management.
  • Professional certifications related to risk management or financial analysis.
