About the Opportunity
Carolina PRG is partnering with a leading, publicly traded consumer services organization ($1B+ in revenue) to identify a Director of Revenue Accounting. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing the cash and revenue accounting functions while driving the stabilization, redesign, and enhancement of internal controls and processes. This position offers the opportunity to work directly for an exceptional VP / Corporate Controller & Chief Accounting Officer known for strong leadership, mentorship, and building high-performing teams. **Hybrid schedule of 2-3 days in office per week**
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the cash and revenue accounting teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 606) and ensure accurate, timely reporting
- Assess, stabilize, and redesign existing processes and internal controls to improve efficiency, scalability, and compliance
- Strengthen and maintain a robust SOX-compliant control environment, including documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, IT, Internal Audit, and Operations to improve data integrity and reporting processes
- Drive process automation and system optimization to enhance accuracy and shorten the close cycle
- Support external audits and act as a key liaison with auditors on revenue and cash-related matters
- Provide leadership in identifying risks and implementing sustainable solutions in a dynamic, evolving environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
- CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and industry experience
- Strong expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606) and public company reporting
- Proven experience in SOX compliance, internal controls, and process improvement/redesign
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, including stabilization and transformation initiatives
- Experience in a publicly traded company environment
- Strong systems aptitude and experience driving automation or system enhancements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
