Director of Respiratory Care (Cardiopulmonary)

McCall and Lee has been engaged by a community based Hospital in Georgia to recruit a Full-Time Director of Respiratory Care to join their team. We are seeking a well skilled, highly productive team player to work with their program.

Positional Summary: The Director of Respiratory Care is familiar with all types of equipment used in the Cardio-Pulmonary Department; performs approved respiratory Therapy treatments and diagnostic studies, including but not limited to: ABGs, EKGs, Holter Monitors, Non-invasive and Invasive Ventilation Management; is capable of correctly charging and documenting treatment procedures. Job Descriptions/Essential Functions access Cardio-Pulmonary care given; identify problems and/or need for improvement; communicate information to department director, physician or charge nurse as appropriate assess patients needs and health status as required communicate to charge nurse or physician assist with Cardio-Pulmonary Quality Assurance activities, as requested provides skilled, evidence based care competently under the direction of a physician, evaluate the effective of problem solving techniques and activities implemented to improve the department assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient needs, administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, obtain and document allergies, medications, procedures, immunizations, past medical history, family history, social history, chief complaint and vital signs, responds to and refers incoming telephone inquiries from patients and other parties, provides education to patients about his/her conditions or medications, documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures, demonstrates effective communication skills (verbal, written, and computerized) with the health care team through: documenting, reporting and interacting, aids in identifying methods of improving patient care, demonstrates professionalism by: articulating and demonstrating professional behavior, accepting responsibility/accountability for actions, adhering to departmental/ hospital policies and procedures, maintains a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing techniques and all other federal mandates, i.e., OSHA, CLIA, etc
