Director of Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab

Currently seeking a talented and dedicated Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab Director for a great opportunity in the Southern TN area. The ideal candidate will possess 5 - 8 years of current experience working in Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab in an acute care hospital and have 3+ years of experience working in a Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab unit in a leadership role.

Responsibilities of the Director of Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab

  • Assures great service, growth, development, and personnel management to ensure consistency in the Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab Department
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives
  • Performs Electrocardiogram, Holter Monitoring and Scanning, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, attend all C-Sections and high rick deliveries of newborn, Arterial Blood Gas Sticks, Capillary sticks, Analyzation of Arterial Blood Gas, Cord Blood Gases, Capillary Blood Gases and Carboxyhemogloblin, Maintenance and troubleshooting of Arterial Blood Gas Analyzer, Pulmonary Function Studies, Electroencephalograms, Stress Testing, Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Monitors department budget, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies, monitors usage and supply stock, and oversees equipment's function
  • Identifies opportunities to improve patient care; planning and facilitating interventions; evaluating and sustaining success
  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels

Requirements of the Director of Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab

  • Associate degree required
  • Current and Valid RN license
  • Current and active Respiratory Therapist license required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Masters degree strongly preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Certification required
  • ACM/CCM preferred
  • 5-8 years of current experience working in Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab in an acute care hospital
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Respiratory, Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Lab unit in a leadership role
  • Must be able to operate or must possess the ability to learn to operate the equipment required to perform the essential job duties including the use of mechanical ventilator devices, holter monitors, pulmonary function equipment, and equipment used within the cardiac/ pulmonary rehab and sleep lab environments
  • Ability to administer all proper clinical care of patient
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical record transcriptions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Problem solving skill set
  • Works collaboratively with healthcare professionals for quality patient care
