Director of Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

Location: Las Vegas, NV

An established leader in high-volume production and advanced manufacturing is seeking a Director of Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement to lead quality operations, ensure regulatory and customer compliance, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. This is a confidential executive search on behalf of a rapidly growing manufacturer committed to operational excellence and product innovation.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading multi-functional quality teams, implementing robust QMS protocols, and fostering a proactive quality culture within fast-paced production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Quality Leadership: Define and execute site-wide quality strategies that support business goals, meet compliance standards, and drive product reliability across all phases of production.
  • QMS Oversight: Ensure adherence to ISO, regulatory, and customer-specific standards. Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality procedures, documentation, and compliance audits.
  • Team Development: Lead and develop a high-performing quality team, including supervisors and engineers. Provide mentorship, training, and career development to ensure team growth and performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, engineering, purchasing, and customer service teams to resolve quality issues, implement process improvements, and drive cost-effective solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track quality KPIs including defect rates, reprint/scrap levels, audit scores, and supplier performance. Deliver insights to executive leadership and drive accountability through metrics.
  • Customer & Supplier Quality: Manage quality protocols for both incoming materials and customer deliverables. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and external non-conformances.
  • Lean and Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean and Six Sigma initiatives. Facilitate Gage R&R, DOE, and SPC efforts to reduce variation, improve yield, and enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Oversee product risk assessments, documentation controls, and ensure preparedness for customer and third-party audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance and systems leadership within manufacturing.
  • 5+ years in a managerial or director-level quality role with direct reports.
  • Expertise in ISO-based quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, root cause tools, and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred).
  • Skilled in using quality software tools such as Minitab, ERP systems, and digital reporting dashboards.
  • Strong communicator with executive presence and ability to engage with customers and cross-functional teams.
