Director of Quality Assurance
Job Description
Our client is a sustainable snack food manufacturer in the better for you space. We are helping them to identify a strategic Director of Food Safety and Quality to lead and enhance food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation programs for 3 facilities across the United States. Reporting to the VP of R&D, the successful candidate will drive regulatory compliance and ensure continuous improvement while fostering a culture of excellence in food safety. Travel expectation for this position will be roughly 30%; visiting 1 facility a month.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement food safety and quality strategies across the company.
- Assist with the implementation of Red Zone quality compliance module.
- Lead a team of 3 Plant QA Managers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversee systems like HACCP, sanitation, and microbiological testing.
- Partner with R&D and Operations to integrate food safety into product design.
- Monitor quality metrics, drive improvement initiatives, and manage root cause analysis for quality system issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Chemistry, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in food manufacturing, 5+ years of Leadership experience.
- Strong leadership and regulatory compliance experience.
- Certifications in GFSI, PCQI, BRC, or SQF preferred
