This prestigious Philadelphia hospital is actively seeking a highly skilled and visionary Director of Pulmonary Medicine to lead the pediatric pulmonary department. The role offers an opportunity to shape and elevate the pulmonary services, ensuring exceptional care delivery and innovative practice development. You will be instrumental in mentoring a dynamic team, enhancing operational efficiencies, and pushing the boundaries of medical education and pediatric pulmonary care.
Salary: $320,000 to $350,000 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily clinical operations of medical staff, ensuring the highest standards of care.
- Define and implement a strategic vision for the department to foster growth and innovation.
- Lead and manage operational aspects, including policy design and implementation.
- Maintain an active clinical role within the practice to stay connected with patient care and staff performance.
- Design and develop practice-oriented education programs that promote continuous learning and development.
- Mentor and train clinical staff, including physicians and nurse practitioners, enhancing their professional skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate quality improvement initiatives that meet and exceed established standards of care.
- Lead recruitment efforts to attract top-tier physicians and nurse practitioners to expand department capabilities.
- Manage expectations, duties, and activities of clinical staff to optimize productivity and satisfaction.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- MD or DO with an unrestricted PA medical license.
- Graduated from an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency program.
- Board Certified in Pediatrics.
- Completed an ACGME Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience in a pediatric outpatient practice setting.
- At least 3 years of experience in practice leadership and change management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record in program development and strategic planning in healthcare settings.
- Experience in managing large teams and multidisciplinary staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and public.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex health administrative functions.
- Prior experience in pediatric pulmonary research and published works.
