As the Director of Product Management of sports equipment & accessories, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the product management team within the sports equipment division of our company. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing product strategies, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality sports equipment to meet the needs that align with our company's goals and market needs. You will collaborate closely with cross- functional teams, and drive initiatives to ensure successful product delivery. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on product management skills.


Reports to the VP of Product & Marketing and located in Bannockburn, IL.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives and market demands.
  • Define and prioritize product features based on market demand and company goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Define and maintain the product roadmap, outlining key milestones, timelines, and resources required for successful product launches.
  • Conduct regular product reviews and iterate on designs to improve product performance and user satisfaction.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive landscapes, informing product decisions.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and other departments to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer feedback, data analysis, and market trends, ensuring maximum impact on user satisfaction and business goals.
  • Monitor customer feedback and address any issues promptly to enhance product quality and adjust product strategies based on market dynamics and customer feedback received.
  • Coordinate and oversee product launches, collaborating with marketing and sales teams to create effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, regularly analyze metrics, and iterate on strategies based on insights.
  • Communicate product strategies, updates, and roadmaps effectively to internal stakeholders, executives, and external partners.
  • Degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related fields preferred.
  • Proven experience in product management, with a focus on sports equipment.
  • At least 5-years in a leadership role.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans that drive product success.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, market research, and using insights to drive product decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to changing priorities
  • Up to 25% travel
The compensation package for this position is commensurate with experience and includes an attractive base salary with annual bonus incentive & competitive benefits package.
