Director of Pharmacy

Southern Coastal Maine

Starting out as a summer cottage built high upon "Breezy Knoll" in York Village in 1906, York Hospital has since grown to become one of the most respected, caring and sophisticated facilities in the Seacoast area.

With 80 beds and a passion for excellence, our client is seeking a pharmacy executive to take their service line to the next level.

This is a full time, Director level position. York Hospital has three primary pharmacy locations.

The Directory of Pharmacy Services is responsible for the operation of Pharmacy Services, including strategic planning, day-to-day operations, pharmaceutical care, clinical and distributive services, financial management, legal responsibility and personnel management.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Overall Leadership of Pharmacy Services including both inpatient and retail pharmacy locations and services.
  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls the delivery of pharmaceuticals to all inpatient, outpatient and emergency care areas including, neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, in accordance with established Hospital policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Provides support to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing the quality monitoring and improvement program for pharmacy services.
  • Responsible for developing and promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with nurses, physicians and intradepartmental personnel as they relate to the pharmaceutical care of the patients.

In order to help us continue to offer exceptional patient experiences, candidates must have the following:

  • Minimum (5) years of Director level experience.
  • Demonstrates outstanding Leadership skills.
  • Experience leading and managing a Pharmacy model for Retail and Hospital settings.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS and/or PharmD required
    Post graduate business/health care administration degree is required.
  • State of Maine Pharmacist License or eligible
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification
