The Director of Patient Access, reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, is responsible for directing the operations and strategy of the Patient Access Department, a 24/7 department with over 80 FTE’s in 10 locations, including the Medical Center, four associated specialty hospitals, a nearby critical access hospital, as well as cancer and heart centers and outpatient services.
Candidate qualifications include a Bachelors’ degree and a minimum of 3+ years of management experience within patient access operations. The Director will bring project management, strategic planning and team leadership aptitudes. A Master’s degree is preferred, as is CHAM certification, familiarity with the EPIC EMR and an understanding of the PFS side of the patient access process.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center is anchored by a teaching and tertiary care hospital, with the region’s only Level II Trauma Center, that serves a seven-county area. The main campus also features the Heart Center, Zimmer Cancer Center, Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Behavioral Health Hospital, and Rehabilitation Hospital.
