A four-star rated, 121-bed skilled nursing facility, as part of a larger continuum of long term health care services, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Nursing (DON). The facility features short stay visits, long term care, and a memory care unit. The organization and position are very stable with an excellent reputation for providing high quality care. The DON position has been occupied by only two individuals over the past nearly 20 years and one of those was promoted and is still with the organization. It is now open due to the incumbent relocating.

The DON, reporting to the Administrator, is responsible for executive oversight of the facility's nursing and clinical services. Provides effective leadership and management of risk management, quality, safety and compliance programs and initiatives that ensures all of the skilled nursing and sub-acute residents are provided the highest level of care. Will oversee a nursing leadership team of an ADON, RN Case Managers, and House Supervisors. Total clinical staff beneath the DON is nearly 100.

The appropriate candidate will be an RN (BSN preferred) with prior DON leadership experience within a skilled nursing facility as this individual will need to hit the ground running. Must have strong leadership and communication skills, possess a lot of initiative, be independent, clinically minded, a relationship-builder (with both staff & residents and their families), good conflict resolution skills, have an understanding of regulations, and be a mentor.
