John Knox Village is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) that provides senior housing, as well as countless services and amenities. The Village also provides long-term health care services, including home care, residential care/assisted living, skilled nursing and hospice. The Village has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Nursing Clinical Management within their growing Village Home Health department. Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to conduct this key search.

Organization: Widely recognized as one of the best and most comprehensive retirement communities in the Greater Kansas City Area, The Village offers residents a long list of activities, classes and travel opportunities, as well as a 9-hole executive golf course, multiple restaurants, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a bowling alley and much more – without ever leaving the Village’s 400-plus acre campus. While residents enjoy their retirement, the Village takes care of their housework, maintenance and repairs.

Opportunity: The Home Health department serves patients in twelve counties in Missouri and Kansas (via two offices), as well as residents of John Knox Village. Average daily census ranges between 350 and 400. The agency is an area leader in re-admission rates, sepsis program development and compliance (recent mock survey indicated they were over-achievers). Staff turnover is very low.

The Director of Nursing, reporting to the Administrator Home Health, is responsible for overall operations to include coordination of patient care assignments, programming, nursing standards, budgeting, therapy services, compliance, intake office, as well as staff oversight of a Clinical Manager and approximately 25 nurses.

Candidate Profile: Ideal candidates will present with a minimum of three to five years supervisory experience with at least two years in home health, hospice or other at-home services (wound care, infusion, etc.). Successful characteristics are a team player, resiliency, problem-solver, decisive, patient-focused and a servant leadership approach. An RN is required and a BSN preferred.

Location: Lee's Summit, one of the Top 100 Cities in America, is becoming one of the busiest centers in the Kansas City metro region and is home to nearly 100,000 residents who enjoy quiet suburban living with all the amenities.
