Position Overview

The Director of Marketing is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the company’s end-to-end marketing strategy to accelerate subscriber growth, expand market share, and strengthen brand equity across all service areas.

This leader will drive a performance-oriented marketing organization that integrates brand, demand generation, product marketing, and community engagement. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational discipline, capable of aligning marketing investments to measurable business outcomes including subscriber acquisition, revenue growth, and customer lifetime value.

The Director of Marketing will serve as a key partner to Sales, Operations, Product, and Executive Leadership to support new market launches, product rollouts, and ongoing growth initiatives across fiber and fixed wireless technologies.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth

  • Develop and lead the company’s comprehensive marketing strategy aligned to revenue targets, market expansion plans, and product roadmap
  • Own marketing’s contribution to subscriber growth, ARPU expansion, and market penetration across all regions
  • Establish scalable go-to-market frameworks for new fiber builds, fixed wireless expansion, and product launches
  • Define and evolve Nextlink’s brand positioning to reinforce differentiation in highly competitive markets

Demand Generation & Performance Marketing

  • Build and optimize a multi-channel demand generation engine across digital, direct, field, and partner channels
  • Oversee lead generation strategy, pipeline development, and conversion optimization in partnership with sales teams
  • Implement closed-loop reporting to track marketing ROI, cost per acquisition (CPA), and channel effectiveness
  • Develop remarketing, referral, and upgrade campaigns to maximize customer lifetime value

Market Expansion & Launch Execution

  • Lead marketing strategy for new market launches, including fiber expansion and wireless coverage growth
  • Partner cross-functionally to support installation backlog targets and subscriber ramp timelines
  • Ensure readiness across messaging, creative, field enablement, and local market activation
  • Drive localized marketing strategies that align with community engagement and regional dynamics

Brand, Content & Communications

  • Own brand strategy, messaging, and storytelling across all channels
  • Oversee development of high-impact content including digital assets, video, campaigns, and sales collateral
  • Manage Nextlink’s presence across social media, digital platforms, and community engagement initiatives
  • Serve as a key external representative with media, partners, and stakeholders

Analytics, Insights & Optimization

  • Establish a data-driven marketing organization with robust analytics, reporting, and forecasting capabilities
  • Analyze customer behavior, market trends, and competitive positioning to inform strategy
  • Continuously optimize campaigns and channel mix based on performance insights
  • Provide executive-level reporting with clear recommendations and action plans

Budget & Resource Management

  • Own and optimize the marketing budget to maximize ROI and efficiency across all initiatives
  • Allocate resources across channels, markets, and programs based on performance and strategic priorities
  • Develop forecasting models for reach, cost, and expected return on marketing investments

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the primary liaison between Marketing, Sales, Field Operations, and Customer Experience teams
  • Align marketing efforts with sales execution, call center operations, and field performance
  • Support enterprise and commercial sales initiatives with targeted marketing programs
  • Ensure consistent messaging and execution across all departments and markets

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Lead relationships with external agencies, digital partners, and marketing vendors
  • Ensure all partners deliver against KPIs, timelines, and budget expectations
  • Drive accountability and performance across outsourced marketing functions

Community & Event Strategy

  • Oversee community engagement strategy, sponsorships, and local activation efforts
  • Develop quarterly initiatives that reinforce Nextlink’s commitment to “making a difference” in the communities served
  • Manage marketing event calendar to maximize brand exposure and local impact

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, preferably within telecom, broadband, or high-growth technology environments
  • Proven track record of driving measurable revenue growth through integrated marketing strategies
  • Deep expertise across digital marketing, demand generation, brand strategy, and product marketing
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in marketing analytics, attribution, and performance optimization
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar budgets and forecasting marketing ROI
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and scale high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIM) are a plus

Work Environment & Additional Information

  • Full-time position based in Hudson Oaks, Texas
  • Hybrid office environment with moderate travel (~10%)
  • High cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external partners
