We are currently assisting our client, a Global Market Leader, with a Director of Logistics search located near Wichita, Kansas. This position will be responsible for providing the leadership direction and organizational design to enable on-time shipments, support plant throughput volume, manage logistic spend, and ensure delivery of high-quality products to meet customer needs in a safe and efficient manner, optimizing cost and value-added return.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible and accountable for the logistic transportation network. This includes managing receiving, storage, counting, accuracy, all movement and security of the inventory.
• Evaluate and update existing logistics network and distribution center key metrics to improve departmental performance measures through utilization continuous improvement processes
• Develop and manage outbound distribution network. This includes managing logistics spend which includes negotiation of carrier agreements
• Formulate, recommend and/or implement logistics policies and agreements that will guide the organization in maintaining and improving the company’s competitive position and the profitability of their operation
• Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and quality while reducing cost and waste
• Follow legal guidelines as it relates to meeting industry packaging standards.
• Manage resources to make real-time adjustments when needed and optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 8+ years of experience at a director level related to transportation/logistics/supply chain management
• Proven success in logistics negotiations and freight loading management
• Must be able to travel 50%+ domestic and international
