Director of Laboratory

The Laboratory Directors essential duties will include:
Responsible for the overall management of the laboratory department in an efficient, economic, and quality manner; to the satisfaction of the medical director, the hospital administration, and the medical staff. Supervises, coordinates, and participates in activities of workers performing various chemical, hematological, microscopic, and bacteriological tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease, procedures, and staff.
Oversees quality control and ensures compliance with rules, regulations, and accreditation requirements of regulatory agencies, including Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission (JC), AABB, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Work Experience Required:
- Five (5) years’ experience as a CLS required.
- Two (2) years’ supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- License, Certification, or Registration required: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
