Currently seeking a talented and dedicated Director of Labor and Delivery for a great opportunity in the Lafayette, IN. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of current experience working in an acute care hospital and have 3+ years of experience working in a Labor and Delivery Room on a leadership role.

Responsibilities of the Director of Labor and Delivery
  • The LDRP director works within a framework based on the American Nurses Association scope and standards of practice for the nurse administrator and abides by the code of ethics for nurses
  • the Director is defined as “a registered nurse who engages in the specialty practice of nursing administration, and is a strategic thinker with administrative accountability for all professional nurses and other employees to foster a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, transformation, and engagement.”
  • Core responsibilities may include clinical care delivery; healthy work environment; resource management, including human, financial, material, and technological; quality and safety; health outcomes; population health management; legal and regulatory compliance; and advocacy
  • To achieve outcomes pertaining to role responsibilities, the Director draws on and practices leadership and business skills; the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation); and core competencies of the nurse executive
  • The Director creates an environment that supports a culture of quality, safety, and appreciative inquiry
  • The Director possesses knowledge and skills that demonstrate principals of transformational leadership, servant leadership, mentoring, organizational development, and emotional intelligence
Requirements of the Director of Labor and Delivery
  • Bachelors required
  • Master’s preferred
  • Registered Nurse
  • 3+ years of nursing experience in LDRP setting
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in an LDRP model
