Job Title: Head of Business Development & Investor Relations
Firm Summary: is a SEC-registered investment adviser that employs an event- driven long/short equity investment strategy focused on the biotechnology sector.
Responsibilities:
- Grow and lead a best-in-class business development/investor relations department with responsibility for the full IR lifecycle: fundraising, on-boarding, and on-going engagement
- Proactively source new prospects, schedule calls and meetings, and prepare and track de-briefing notes and follow-ups. Periodic travel (allocator conferences, etc.) expected
- Create pipeline and capital activity reports for prospect and fundraising management
- Lead internal effort in collaboration with various teams to timely complete data requests from prospective and current investors, including RFPs, DDQs, and ad hoc requests
- Work closely with the front office to understand strategy, catalysts, and trade structures in order to educate and update investors on portfolio developments and performance
- Develop and distribute the firm’s investor presentation, performance reports, attribution analysis and other marketing materials, including investor letters and case studies
- Ensure compliance with internal marketing policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain firm CRM database/third-party performance databases. Assist subscription and capital activity processing/data collection in collaboration with finance and legal teams
- Monitor sector trends and market developments to support fundraising/investor outreach
- Develop and document processes and procedures and identify enhancements to optimize efficiencies, adopt best practices, reduce risk, elevate investor communications and drive client relationship success
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years employment at a financial services firm in a senior marketing/IR role
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, portfolio analysis software, portfolio attribution/investment performance measurement, and marketing regulations
- Superior written and verbal communication skills; exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent project management, organizational skills, work ethic, and integrity
- Customer service mindset, collaborative team-player, proactive and resourceful
- Ability to take direction but also work independently; willingness to take ownership of projects through completion and accept any task that will benefit a growing organization
