Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Owner of a leading freight solution provider with a portfolio of services to include freight forwarding (e.g., air, ocean, overland), air charters (e.g., cargo & passenger), warehousing, customs brokerage, and visibility tools.
The Director of Information Technology strategically aligns with business operations to generate innovative ways of working leveraged by IT solutions and processes. The goal is to set the vision through change management and lead technological evolution by way of developing and establishing an organizational IT road map considering growth potential, market trends, and new technology implementation to drive sustainable productivity. The successful individual will be accountable for IT as a business enabler, collaborating with functional heads to deploy technology-based solutions for strategic and operational goals of the organization. Will lead IT organization structure and operations to include recruitment, budgets, ROI, KPIs, training, and performance management & development of a team of software, hardware, cybersecurity, project management, infrastructure, and center of excellence professionals serving various business units. Manages all tier 1 to tier 3 applications, SLA & governance standards, 3rd party applications, IT vendors, contracts, and ensures governance is administered per industry’s best practices. Leverages data analytics management from different systems and acts as a point of contact for data inferred decision making. Accounts for outlining standards and procedures for business processes and IT systems accredited by governing entities and pioneers in the industry.

Background Required:
  • IT operations, team supervision, and large project oversight with an airline (10 years)
  • Third party systems implementation with suppliers & vendors
  • Effective governance and concepts’ competency for IT implementation
  • Knowledge and understanding of business processes and IT systems
  • Strong business enabling competencies to interpret data for decision making
  • Leadership and team management of technically competent staff from various domains of IT
  • Effective communication with teams across a global organization
  • Portfolio, program, and project management principles
  • Cybersecurity risk management while meeting business needs and ensuring end user functionality
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Computer literate: Internet & Microsoft suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Engineering, IT, MIS, Computer Science)
  • Residence: Central Florida – Will relocate
