Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer for a nationwide logistics company with over 100 locations and thousands of independent-owner operator drivers providing services to include dedicated fleet-outsourcing, hot shot delivery, logistics, and courier.

The Director of Healthcare is responsible for directing activities that will have a significant impact on customer relations, sales, process operations and sustainability of the Healthcare Transportation and Logistics Department and will be an integral part of the national operations team in the corporate HQ. Pursues and manages business opportunities, understands service requirements, and drives client implementations. Makes accurate rapid cost calculations and provide prospects with proposals for service. Strengthens relations with existing customers as well as builds new relationships with potential customers. Negotiates pricing and service aspects to close new business. Develops, maintains, and reports on KPIs. Designs transportation networks with an emphasis on routing while auditing KPIs. Investigate root causes and perform corrective action to resolve logistics issues and implement processes for continuous improvement. Act as liaison between multiple business units, monitoring and identifying data inaccuracies and working interdepartmentally to resolve. Compiles and analyzes historical data to monitor trends and develop bid packages. Articulates rationale for cost savings including results of sourcing metrics to Executive leadership. Understands direction, and guidelines set by Leadership, and execute those directives.

Background Required:
  • Team management and leadership experience in T&L or Supply Chain (5 years minimum)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations
  • Proven history of sales achievement, client relationships, and directly driving business
  • Advanced knowledge of strategic distribution management, with a focus in sales
  • Profit & Loss management
  • Business Plan development and implementation
  • Metrics measurements (e.g., pricing, delivery, costs, quality)
  • Travel: Up to 70% for client visits, new business, and operations management & improvement
  • Computer Systems: Microsoft Office, CRM Systems, Logistics Systems, Mapping/Routing Software
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Healthcare, or related field
  • Residence: Houston, TX
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management
  • Domestic & time critical transportation operations, multiple sites, national level
