Salary: $74,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct the Health Information Management department's activities and resources to achieve organizational goals.
• Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.
• Oversee patient care delivery, information technologies, and service level determination to ensure optimal department performance and quality control.
• Manage staffing activities including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
• Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring operations are within allocated funding.
• Coordinate and direct internal/external audits to maintain compliance and integrity of health information.
• Create and maintain an environment conducive to professional growth and development of staff.
• Ensure seamless integration of the HIM department's functions with other hospital services.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• RHIT Certification required.
• Proven experience in managing a health information management department.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminologies and healthcare regulations.
• Solid understanding of data management and information technology systems.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a Joint Commission accredited facility.
• Additional certifications in health information management and related fields.
• Experience with electronic health record systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive innovation in health information management.
