The Setting

We are a premier, 1,200-acre private estate and world-class destination where the natural landscape is treated as a masterpiece. Our property features championship-grade turf, complex water systems, and expansive natural buffers that require a level of care found only at the highest tier of luxury hospitality and private club environments. We are looking for a visionary leader to steward this land and maintain its reputation for absolute perfection.

The Role

As the Director of Grounds and Maintenance, you are the primary architect of our physical environment. This is a high-level leadership role requiring a blend of agronomic expertise, aesthetic precision, and strategic project management. You aren't just managing a crew; you are managing a multi-million dollar living asset. You will oversee the long-term health of the ecosystem and lead the department responsible for the flawless execution of all property maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Land Stewardship: Develop and execute long-term master plans for grounds improvement, forestry management, and large-scale horticultural enhancements.
  • Agronomic Excellence: Oversee high-specification turf management, integrated pest control, and sophisticated irrigation schedules to ensure "tournament-ready" conditions across the entire estate.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Direct the department responsible for the daily upkeep and mechanical integrity of the property, ensuring that all physical assets—from pathways to structures—are kept in pristine, operational condition.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage a comprehensive annual budget, overseeing capital expenditures, vendor contracts, and the procurement of top-tier machinery and materials.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a professional crew, fostering a culture of "exacting standards" and extreme attention to detail in every task.
  • Fleet & Asset Management: Maintain a world-class fleet of specialized maintenance equipment and utility vehicles, ensuring peak operational readiness and safety.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a highly competitive executive package designed to support the long-term health and financial security of our leadership team.

  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 (Commensurate with experience).
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Income Protection: Life insurance, Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
  • Retirement Planning: Company-matched 401(k) plan (available after 6 months of employment; 50% match on the first 4% of contributions, up to a 2% maximum company match).
  • Time Off: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) program to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years in a senior leadership role (Superintendent, Estate Manager, or Director level) at a high-end property or private club.
  • Education: A degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or a related field is highly preferred but not required for a candidate with an exceptional track record.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to report to ownership and coordinate with high-profile stakeholders.
