Job Overview: This position consists of maintaining business at county jails as well as finding new jails to grow the business. An ideal candidate would be someone who is self-motivated and can successfully create lasting relationships and expand the business. This position is not remote. The Sales Representative is expected to travel 60% of the time and in the office 40% of the time. This position requires the use of a company car and company phone.
Skills & Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in governmental affairs, public relations, economic development, or related role
• Prior experience with institutional facilities (county jail and detention centers)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Great customer service, computer, and analytical skills
• Ability to work as a team and independently
• Ability to lift a maximum of 10 pounds
• Proficient in: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, Outlook
• Strong mathematical aptitude
• Valid Driver’s License
• Daily, local, and occasional overnight travel in company vehicle
• Complete a satisfactory background check, drug screen, and MVR
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Oversee/manage all existing county jail accounts and grow customer base in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida to achieve financial targets
• Building strong relationships with county officials
• Visit customers, understand their needs and concerns, and provide effective solutions
• Provide quotes and prepare bids for county jails
• Onboard new accounts, set up accounts, and maintain account updates
• Assist jails with transactions (credits, refunds, canceling an item)
• Ensure accuracy and effective use of Management Software
• Attend county jail meetings
• Prepare and distribute commission reports to jails
• Assist with menu and pricing updates
• Collect funds from customers and complete bank deposits occasionally
• Ensure customer satisfaction by providing outstanding customer service
• Participate in company sponsored events to promote services (meetings, trade shows, state conferences, training, and other work-related events as scheduled)
• Report the daily tasks completed for accounts weekly
• Perform all other tasks as assigned to support department and company objectives/goals
