Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO for a full service supply chain solutions provider specializing in asset & non-asset based transportation, domestic & international logistics, and warehousing & fulfillment. Our client is a growing organization that has been in business for over 10 years and is frequently featured in the Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies.

The Director of Freight Forwarding is responsible to formalize the organization’s Freight Forwarding and Intermodal product offering by establishing a Division to house such products from the ground up. This individual will have full P/L ownership and responsibility for all aspects of running the division, from licensing & compliance to business development & staffing. Will establish and maintain relationships with the airlines, ocean carriers, domestic carriers, and all other vendor relationships locally, regionally, and nationally. Generate revenues through a consultative sales approach to identify, solicit, and secure new business from existing and new customers. The successful individual will build a world-class sales and operations team capable of consistently increasing revenues, optimizing costs, and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Domestic and International Freight forwarding (5 years)
  • Department or branch management role (3 years)
  • Multimodal (e.g., air, ocean, intermodal, drayage)
  • Warehousing (e.g., pick & pack, cross dock)
  • KPIs and P & L management
  • Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals
  • Knowledge of local & regional markets and client relationships with transfer possibility
  • Analytical orientation and data driven business decisions
  • Ability to obtain industry licenses and credentials (e.g., CTPAT, TSA, US Customs, FMC)
  • Computer systems: MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Education: BA or BS Degree or equivalent experience
  • Residence: Greater St. Louis Market – Relocation assistance available
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Project Cargo (e.g., breakbulk, oversized, special equipment)
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Experience with industry systems (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, World Track)
  • Education: Advanced degree
