Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CCO of one of the industry’s most trusted providers of hazardous bulk transportation. With over 50 years of industry experience focusing on specialty chemical & natural gas liquids with 500 power units, they possess delivery abilities across the entire lower 48 of the US.
The Director of Freight Brokerage will be tasked with the launch, development, and strategic management of a new Freight Brokerage business service offering. Will develop and execute an aggressive, multi-location growth plan while maintaining strong financial performance, designing organizational structure, driving new business development initiatives, supporting organic revenue growth, and developing Key Account Management. Will design and implement an organizational structure for the business unit, including middle management, business development, key account management, carrier sales, strategic capacity, and operations, to maximize efficiency and meet organizational strategy. Will be responsible for maintaining and building carrier and customer relationships, while also managing and implementing operational strategies. Will establish and manage high level carrier relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business. Will open revenue and operational growth opportunities with existing customers. The challenge is to successfully grow new and existing customer accounts by providing superior service and ensuring best practices are being utilized by all team members, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
- Progressive Senior Level experience within Freight Brokerage (10 + years)
- Leadership and Management – hire, train, coach, mentor, organic personnel development
- Large team management – 25 + headcount
- Modes of transportation (bulk)
- Establish and manage Carrier Portal ensuring repeat capacity
- Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
- Carrier Procurement KPI’s
- Customer Management KPI’s
- Margin Integrity
- Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
- Education: College Graduate - BA or BS
- Residence: Houston, TX (relocation assistance) or major market
- Multi-location management
