Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President for a privately held, woman owned truckload carrier.

The Director of Finance is a Senior Management role and will plan, direct, and supervise the corporation's financial affairs to include financial reporting, tax compliance, cost accounting and business planning. Leads 3 direct reports from the finance group including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Administers and maintains all corporate financial records including books of original entry, supporting schedules and subsidiary ledgers. Provides process ownership and thought leadership to the areas of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, accounting, business analysis, and business performance reporting. Establishes and maintains cost accounting standards for the corporation to be implemented. Develops and maintains an effective department through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination, and review of all department personnel. Creates & examines accuracy of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) & distribute financial statements. Develops plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure.

  • Computer Literate: Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Education: Bachelors (i.e., Accounting or Finance)
  • Residence: Toledo, OH (relocation assistance not provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Familiar with the Transportation Industry
  • Transportation software (i.e., TMW innovative, Great Plains)
  • Certification: CMA or CPA
