Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO/President of a company that specializes in “Big Ticket” final mile delivery. The company provides "white glove" in home delivery of furniture, bedding, appliances, exercise equipment, large electronics etc. for major retailers across the nation. The Director of Final Mile Delivery Operations defines, develops, and manages operations and customer support to meet the organization’s Residential Delivery service offering. Tasked with the growth and development of the business unit for significant growth. Will lead a team of delivery managers and associates to meet and exceed client expectations. Strategically developing and growing the carrier relationships and capacity to service clients will be primary functions of this role. Chief responsibility will be to continue the carrier development capabilities to increase revenue of the service line, reduce costs while driving efficiency, and maximizing profitability.

Background Required:
  • Final Mile Home Delivery Operations (5 yrs)
  • Large account management
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and retaining independent contractor drive teams
  • Strong prior experience growing final mile/residential delivery business
  • Setting, measuring, and meeting key performance indicators
  • Retail distribution environment
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • P&L management
  • Staff management & training
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Residence: Metro New York / New Jersey Region

  • Big and Bulky freight delivery and requirements

  • CLDA or NHDA membership
