Overview:
The Federal Tax Services practice of our client is responsible for providing clients with tax compliance and consulting services and is seeking to further build its tax services practice with the addition of a Director of Federal Tax Services. The Federal Tax Services professionals work on a variety of client profiles covering technical subjects, including accounting methods, consolidated returns, capital recovery, mergers and acquisitions, tax audits, as well as ASC 740 accounting for income taxes. In many cases, their Federal professionals manage day-to-day client service relationships, and as such, serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that help to improve compliance with taxing entities, while maintaining each client's overall tax risk profile. Our client is seeking a professional that is comfortable with both a variety of tax structures including C-Corporations, S-Corporation, and Partnerships. The ideal candidate should have some experience with international tax forms.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct day-to-day management of client accounts by coordinating and/or delivering all tax compliance consulting services to our valued clients;
- Oversee complex tax research projects across a diverse range of industries;
- Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses;
- Manage medium to large U.S. and state tax compliance accounts;
- Act as a liaison between clients and engagement teams on a day-to-day basis in order to ensure on time and accurate work product;
- Prepare and manage tax provision computations for medium-to-large multinational companies;
- Forecasting, attribute modeling, analyses of uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowance analyses;
- Conduct research and analysis of a wide range of tax issues such as business combinations, tax implications of financing techniques, and corporate restructuring;
- Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate their Associates and Senior Associate team by actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering our team-based atmosphere;
- Assist with business development, including add-on business.
Qualifications:
- At least 6+ years of public accounting experience or equivalent gained working or industry
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field
- This position will have significant executive experience therefore, proven, excellent communication skills with management and clients are required
- Licensed CPA or JD
- Experience with all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel) and GoSystems (or similar tax reporting software)
- 1+ years of experience as a Tax Manager
- A working knowledge of ASC 740, including ASC740-10-5-6 (FIN 48)
- Willingness to travel
