Director of Engineering & Maintenance
Job Description
We’re partnering with a well-established, privately held food and beverage manufacturer to help them find a Director of Maintenance and Engineering. The company produces premium cocktail mixers, coffee syrups, sauces, and concentrates for major national brands.
This isn’t just another job — it’s a chance to own and elevate the entire technical function of a high-volume, SQF Level 3-certified operation. The company is growing, investing in its infrastructure, and ready to hand the reins to someone who can take their maintenance and engineering programs to the next level.
If you’re a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives on building strong teams, running complex capital projects, and driving continuous improvement, this is the role where you can truly make your mark.
What You’ll Lead and Deliver:
-
Maintenance Strategy & Execution: Build a proactive, data-driven maintenance culture that prioritizes uptime, safety, and reliability.
-
Capital Projects: Spearhead equipment upgrades, line expansions, and facility improvements — from concept to completion.
-
Team Leadership: Mentor and empower a skilled team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance professionals.
-
Safety & Compliance: Champion workplace safety and ensure compliance with OSHA, SQF, and all regulatory requirements.
-
Lean & TPM Initiatives: Implement world-class TPM and CI practices that reduce downtime, increase throughput, and drive measurable results.
-
Cross-Functional Impact: Collaborate with operations, quality, and supply chain teams to improve plant performance and support business growth.
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
✔ Have 10+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering leadership within food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing
✔ Are confident managing capital budgets, high-speed lines, and CMMS platforms
✔ Can build strategy while rolling up your sleeves on the floor when needed
✔ Hold a Bachelor’s in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
✔ Are energized by culture change, team development, and solving root-cause issues
✔ Prefer autonomy, accountability, and visibility to the executive team
Why This Role Stands Out:
✅ High visibility — report directly to the COO and influence company-wide improvements
✅ Real impact — lead modernization efforts and help shape the plant’s long-term future
✅ Strong foundation — join a company with a rich history and a commitment to food safety and quality
✅ Room to grow — build the next chapter of your career in a dynamic, people-first environment
Ready to take the lead? This is your opportunity to build something lasting, drive operational excellence, and be the technical voice at the leadership table.
