Job Summary
The Director of Emergency Services will lead and manage the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, optimizing operational performance, and developing future leaders within the department. This role provides strategic direction, fosters a collaborative work environment, and ensures compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, dynamic leader who is passionate about emergency medicine and driving positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Identify and resolve challenges impacting emergency care services, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Drive patient experience initiatives within the Emergency Department to enhance patient satisfaction scores.

Mentor and develop future healthcare leaders within the emergency services team.

Oversee departmental compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

Implement and maintain a performance improvement program that continuously evaluates critical aspects of emergency care.

Manage personnel, resources, and financials to optimize department efficiency and effectiveness.

Develop and enforce standards of emergency care to maintain consistency and excellence.

Actively participate in hospital-wide committees and strategic planning initiatives.

Foster a collaborative environment with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership to improve patient care outcomes.

Drive recruitment and retention efforts to ensure a strong emergency services team with a focus on leadership development.

Lead emergency preparedness planning and response efforts to ensure rapid, coordinated response to critical situations.
Qualifications & Experience

Managers will be considered if they are effectively performing in a director-level role, with a proven track record of metrics and accomplishments listed on their resume.

Must have experience mentoring new leaders.

Minimum of 3+ years of acute care emergency department leadership experience in a comparable facility.

Proven track record of achieving performance metrics and mentoring emerging leaders in a hospital setting.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business preferred.

Active RN license in the state of Texas or eligibility to obtain one.

Certifications: ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and BLS required.

Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive patient-centered initiatives, and improve operational efficiencies.
