Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior VP of Truckload and Logistics of a $300 million drayage, container, regional, dedicated, truckload and logistics company that has been in business for over 50 years, specializing in intermodal services including, container depot operations, rail, warehousing and logistics throughout the Midwest, Ohio Valley, Gulf and East coast, with a team of over 600 multimodal experts and a fleet of over 1,300 independent contract drivers.
The Director of Driver Recruiting is responsible for leading and overseeing the direction, approaches, and strategies of recruiting owner operators through a staff of 7. Establishes programs that support the company’s culture, mission, vision, and strategy. Will exceed the goal of over 25 drivers per week. As a key member of the team, develops strategic direction, as well as the hands-on execution, communication, and delivery of recruiting policies, programs, and practices, and works strategically on driver retention. Challenge is to increase driver hiring, optimize costs, and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Proven track record of managing recruiting department (5 yrs.)
  • Recruiting Owner Operators and Independent Contract Drivers
  • Advertised and marketed effectively to drivers
  • Driver sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding (25 drivers per week)
  • Regulations (CSA, DOT, FMCSR)
  • Contact Management and TMS software (i.e. Trinium, Tenstreet, TMW, McLeod)
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Residence: Cleveland area
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Drayage
  • In-cab communication and eLog (i.e., Omnitracs, Peoplenet, Rand McNally)
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Education: BS or BA degree
